Counseling Student Intern
I especially enjoy working with children, teens, and families and supporting them through emotional regulation, communication challenges, and life transitions. Through my work in school settings, I have developed a deep appreciation for how family relationships, community, and life experiences shape the way we understand ourselves and connect with others.
I approach therapy with curiosity and compassion, believing that meaningful change often begins when people feel safe enough to explore their stories. I enjoy working collaboratively with clients to build insight, strengthen relationships, and create healthier patterns of connection. My life experiences have also shaped my belief that people are often making the best decisions they can within difficult circumstances, and I strive to meet each client with empathy, respect, and a non-judgmental perspective.
Highlighting one of my specialties:
Trauma and Disability-Affirming Care
Every person deserves to feel understood, respected, and supported, not despite their differences or experiences, but because of them.
Living with a disability, neurodivergence, chronic illness, or the lasting effects of trauma can shape how we experience relationships, emotions, and the world around us. These experiences are often misunderstood or overlooked, leaving individuals and families feeling isolated, overwhelmed, or unheard.
My work is rooted in providing trauma-informed, disability-affirming care for children, teens, adults, and families.
Whether someone is navigating the impact of trauma, adjusting to a diagnosis, supporting a loved one with a disability, or learning to better understand themselves, I strive to create a space where clients feel safe, empowered, and accepted. Together, we explore strengths, build practical coping skills, strengthen relationships, and work toward healing at a pace that feels respectful and sustainable.
Areas of focus may include:
Trauma and post-traumatic stress
Neurodiversity (Autism, ADHD, and other neurodevelopmental differences)
Intellectual and developmental disabilities
Emotional regulation and anxiety
Family relationships and caregiver support
School-related challenges and life transitions
Identity, self-esteem, and self-acceptance
Building resilience after difficult experiences
My approach is trauma-informed, relational, strengths-based, and culturally responsive. I integrate cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), narrative therapy, play-based interventions, mindfulness, and family systems perspectives while adapting therapy to each person's unique strengths, communication style, and needs.
Whether you are healing from trauma, navigating life with a disability or neurodivergence, supporting a family member, or simply looking for a space where you can feel understood without judgment, therapy can offer an opportunity to build resilience, deepen connection, and move toward a life that feels more authentic and fulfilling.
